August 2006
Friday, August 25, 2006 |Time| 11:47 AM |Sound| Checkers' Rap Cat Commercial |Habit| waking up before any alarm goes off |Feel| tummy area hurts |Think| I should probably go play Oblivion Upon first seeing the commercial, I thought it was stupid. After seeing it again and again, I realized that I liked it. I like the Checkers' Rap Cat Commercial. I'm not really sure why, but I do. Now that that's out of my system... We got the kitchen painted. It looks so nice with it's Desert Fortress (light tan) paint; it's much better than the leaves that were all over the walls. Of course now that the walls are plain, Sean and I are going to have to find some things to put on two of the walls. I think we're going to go with some kind of kitchen-y picture on one wall. For the other wall, we're planning on putting up pictures of family, Kitty, and maybe even us. Of course we're going to let family members know about this and inform them that they need to pick out a good picture and send it to us for our wall. I know Kitty will end up with some pictures, and I think we might go get pictures taken of us so we can put at least one up in the hallway. We're still figuring it all out. Now we're starting on the living room. Seeing as the kitchen flows into the living room, we now need to living room painted to match. We took the strips down and now we need to fill and sand them before we can put on a white primer and then use the tan. The kitchen ended up being spread out over five days, and I'm wondering if the living room will take as long or even longer. There was so much to tape off in the kitchen though, but then again the strips in the living room are worse than they were in the kitchen. I don't know. I just can't wait to have the whole house painted. Then we're going to put new flooring down throughout the whole house, minus the game room seeing as it already has new carpet. Sunday is our two year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been two years. Then again, it seems like it's been so much longer than that. We're planning on going out to eat at The Old Mill. They have great blackened grouper with a melted butter dip. We thought about maybe going to a movie, but it would seem that the movies we wanted to see don't come out until next week and the week after. So I have no idea of what we're planning on doing with our day. Sunday, August 6, 2006 |Time| 7:27 AM |Sound| no music |Habit| being up early on a day to sleep in |Feel| tired and a little hungry |Think| I wish I could have slept until 8 Friday through today is tax-free for clothing, footwear, and school supplies. It is also the first time Alabam! has done tax-free. Yuck. Work was rather busy Friday and Saturday. I was on the register for a bit Friday, and then managed to escape towards the end of my shift. I was then on it almost all day Saturday. Then about an hour before I was to leave, a new associate on the register had a customer issue. I wasn't back there at the time, but I did have the other manager who was working come up front and ask me if there was a way to redo anything. One big complicated thing and the customer was quite upset and I ended up going back there to speak with her and she was still pissed. She ended up returning the more expensive items she bought and taking my first name along with the other manager's and telling us she was contacting Ny&C. All because she wanted to use two $20 mall gift cards and then wrote a check for the rest, but the stupid associate didn't use both cards and only did one. We had offered to give her back $20 cash for her card and she was just a bitch. Call the damn company. I was ready to give her the number if she wanted it. Moving past that, why bother with no tax? If you buy $200 worth of stuff, you save $16. A lot of people just got one or two items and it was less than $50 (most less then $20). I purchased three items yesterday, but it wasn't to save me $4 in tax; it was just stuff I was buying due to me needing some pants and having an extra discount. I've been up since about 6:15. Sean got up at 6 so he could go finish up his golf game with a friend. They got rained out and were finishing the last 9 holes this morning. I had set my alarm for 8, but woke up while Sean was getting ready. All I have to do this morning is shower. We're going to eat at Blue Plate at 10:30, then at 1 we're going to see The Decent, and then we're shopping a bit, and then coming home and watching our shows from last night. We went to Blue Plate on Sunday morning two weeks ago. We were the first people there and they seated us, which was odd since you seat yourself. They put us in the back and hid us from the church-goers who would be arriving shortly. When we left at about 11, we walked out from the back and were just like "wow". Sitting in the back we didn't realize the whole place was packed with people waiting. Which is why we get there right when they open and have an early lunch. Got to have a booth and not have to wait. Besides, on Sunday we'd rather not be around all the churchers for very long. Crazy religious south. I told my store manager that I was an atheist one day and she told me that if people down here knew they'd throw me on the ground, pin me, and start splashing holy water on me. I've pretty much avoided telling most people since they are so religious. They go to church on Wednesday night and then Sunday morning for like 3 hours! We get a lot of people in our store shopping for some new clothes to wear to church. Wouldn't want to repeat an outfit at church; they might think you no longer care since you're in previously worn clothes. Archives |
