August 2004
August 19, 2004 |Time| 1:01 PM |Sound| "Sweet Home Alabama" Lynard Skynard |Habit| sneezing |Feel| my right eye itches |Think| I wish my cold would be done & over with. I now have a small wedding. Sean & I were going to just go to the courthouse or city hall and get married, but then decided that if his parents found someone to marry us, then we'd get married in their backyard. So, then we were getting married in their backyard at 11am and then going out to lunch with everyone to The Old Mill. Then his mom asked if it was alright to have a cake. That seemed fine since we were going to be eating lunch and all. Then it turned into a whole day thing because his mom is going to have meat and vegetable trays along with punch and cake at the house. Now we aren't going out to eat until 6pm. This of course means that our half a day with everyone turned into a full day with everyone since we'll have to hang out and whatnot until we go out for dinner. Sean's mom planned on getting her hair done for the wedding and asked if I wanted to get mine done as well. I figured why not. Of course, I'm not even going to be wearing a dress. I do have a cute outfit though. I got it from New York & Company. It's a light pink blouse/shirt with a black skirt that has pink outlines of flowers and pink trim on it. I love NY&C; I just get so many cute clothes from there. I'm looking forward to getting to visit with my family when they come down for the wedding. It's been three months since I've seen them. That's the longest time I've been away from them. My mom & dad, sister, aunt & uncle, grandma & grandpa, my cousin Jenny, and maybe two of my other cousins. Robert was wanting to come and was trying to get off work, and Rachel wanted to come, but nobody knows if she is or not. I guess I'll find out if either of them will be here the day everyone gets here. I'm gonna be cleaning the house next week, probably Tuesday and Wednesday since everyone will be here Thursday evening. It won't take long to clean since the house isn't a mess or anything and never will be, but I will need to dust, vacuum, and clean the bathrooms. Of course I did just clean the shower and bathtub this week, so that's already done. Dusting would be my longest thing, but there's really not too much to dust, especially since I'm not moving all of our figures to dust the shelves. That's a once a year deal. Game room will probably be every other year or so because there's just way to many games and systems to deal with. Sean & I went out to eat with his parents this past weekend. We went to The Melting Pot in Florida, which was about 90 minutes away. We got there around 2pm (3 their time), and it turned out that they didn't open until 5. We went to Radio Shack and the mall to kill time before we could eat. Sean & I got a nice dvd player that has progressive scan and will play any format disc. We also got a new remote for the tv in the bedroom since mine broke and so did his universal Star Wars remote. The dvd player is nice though, and it automatically adjusts the screen to fill as much as it can of our widescreen tv. Before we just adjusted it with the tv remote, but now we don't have to mess with it. Since we got the new dvd player, the other one went into the bedroom, so now we finally have one in there. Anyway, back to The Melting Pot. We got there at 5 when they opened and stayed there until 8. We were there for 3 hours. We had two cheese fondues, chicken and steak, and two small chocolate fondues. That was one expensive meal. It ended up being about $92, and Sean's dad tipped $20. The reason it was so much was because of Sean & me. We wanted another cheese fondue and then we were the ones eating the chocolate fondues. It's just crazy to think about though. 3 hours and about $100 for one meal. It was fun though. I put in some job applications at the mall last week, but I haven't heard back from any of the stores. Now, Sean's mom Janet cleans for this guy named David who has a pottery business. Dave was telling Janet that he wanted to get a site up for his business and she knew that I do web sites. I went and talked to Dave and I now have the job of doing his business site. I know that I can at least do most of it, but I'm not entirely sure about the shopping cart and security. That's where my challenge will be. I can do the whole database thing and design the site, but the shopping cart issue may prove to be too much for me. I guess I'll find out if I can actually do it or not. If I can do the whole site though, Dave knows a lot of people and will recommend me to others. This would be great because I love doing web sites. I just have to make it all the way through this one first... Archives |
